    Pontefract Racecourse is excited to announce the addition of a brand new raceday to its 2026 season calendar, set to take place on Tuesday 2nd June. This special day will not only deliver action packed racing throughout the afternoon but will also celebrate and raise awareness as well as funds for the Yorkshire Children’s Charity.
    The Yorkshire Children’s Charity Raceday will help support the vital work the charity provides to children within the Yorkshire area. Their mission is to make things better for children and young people living at a disadvantage, now and for their future.

    Alan Pugh will present an illustrated history of Leeds from the Domesday book through the Industrial Revolution to being granted City status at the end of the 19th century. 
    Kirkstall Abby and Pontefract Castle share a deeply intertwined history dating back to the 12th century, bound together by Henry de Lacy.
