Darrington Farming Walk

The theme of the walk is to describe how Darrington has changed over the last 70 years, especially with regard to farming.
You will hear, from farmer Alastair Wilson and Richard Hirst, how farm work has changed, from being very labour intensive with many small farms in the village and relatively small surrounding fields, to the landscape and village layout we see today. Currently the village has larger farms, needing less staff as mechanisation, efficiency and size of farm equipment has changed.
