The Heritage Group is responsible for promoting an awareness and appreciation of our rich historic past and heritage.
With knowledge gained from detailed research we offer guided walks of Pontefract to other civic societies, U3A groups and others such as the West Yorkshire Lieutenancy and the The Yorkshire Society who are interested in Pontefract’s rich heritage.
We also actively advocate the promotion of Pontefract’s influential residents or town locations with the installation of commemorative blue plaques. Follow the link for more details.
