Did you know that Pontefract has its very own Town Crier – John Turner.
John is a member of the Ancient & Honourable Guild of Town Criers and can often be found in the town and library engaging with the good folk of the town.
He makes regular Proclamations about upcoming events and news usually near the Buttercross. He is also available for private hire for individuals, community groups and businesses for a modest fee (those fabulous clothes don’t come cheap you know)
