Based on the Pontefract Museum’s exhibition ‘Picturing Pontefract’, join Paul Cartwright on a meander around the town centre to view just a few of the locations selected by artists to showcase Pontefract’s heritage buildings and their uses over the centuries.
An external tour of school buildings/grounds with the school archivist, with an additional Q&A session and a chance to view items from the archives.
Pontefract Park Walk - a guided walk, by Pontefract Civic Society, with information about its WWI & WWII connections, the history of the park and reference to nature in the park.
The theme of the walk is to describe how Darrington has changed over the last 70 years, especially with regard to farming.
This new exhibition will be available for the first time on Wednesday 16th September in as part of a tour with commentary. This will focus on our benefactors and what they were like.
A Grade II listed 18th century town hall built in 1785 by Bernard Hartley with the added Victorian Assembly Rooms from 1882. Join Pontefract Civic Society for a guided tour of the Town Hall including the Assembly Rooms, Nelson Room, and perhaps a few more nooks & crannies.
