In this presentation from Profressor Joyce Hill, we saw Leeds through the centuries on this virtual ‘walk’ with Professor Joyce Hill. Leeds and Pontefract at the time of the Domesday Book, 1086 had a connection via Ilbert de Lacy, first Baron of Pontefract. Also, a remarkable 10th century Anglo-Scandinavian cross remains standing in Leeds Minster. With many of the city’s medieval past hidden from years of redevelopment, Joyce brought the buildings, sites and streets of this fascinating period in the city’s history to life.
