Pontefract Lioness Club

Pontefract Lioness Club are a group of like-minded individuals who work together in the local community to raise funds to help those less fortunate than ourselves and make the community a better place to live. Our work includes supporting individuals and groups and at the same time provides fun and friendship to our own members whilst doing so.

Looking for Volunteers: Yes

Volunteer Opportunities: Pontefract Lioness Club are looking for members and friends of Lionesses to support us with our activities throughout the year. We raise funds through a variety of events such as galas, bucket collections and Santas Grotto's and are always looking for volunteers to help us at these events as well as people who would like to become full members of the organisation. One of our major events is the Annual Lantern Festival which is held in Pontefract in October each year and attracts up to 3000 people of all ages and abilities to take part. This is a FREE event and encourages everyone in the community to join together to drop-in to our workshop sessions throughout September and October where we will help them to make lanterns which they can then carry in the parade which goes from Pontefract Castle to Friarwood Valley Gardens where the event ends with music and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.Regardless of how much or how little time you have to give- Pontefract Lioness Club are keen for you to get involved and support us in any way you can.
