Pontefract and District Family History Society
The Pontefract & District Family History Soc is an active group of family historians who meet on the third Thursday of each month, except for August and December at 7.30pm in the Micklegate Methodist Church Hall, Pontefract. We encourage members in the research of their family's history and have regular speakers on all aspects of genealogy and other related topics. We have a large library of books and CDs which members can borrow and we publish an extensive list of booklets of parish records for baptisms, burials, marriages, and monumental inscriptions for all the parishes in our area, We welcome all comers, both experienced researchers and those new to family history to whom our knowledgeable members will offer support and guidance.
