DESCRIPTION:With a partial solar eclipse set to take place in August 2026\, this engaging session at Rosse Observatory offers the perfect opportunity to learn more about one of nature’s most fascinating phenomena. \nVisitors can explore how solar eclipses occur\, what makes this upcoming event special\, and why they don’t happen every month despite the Moon orbiting the Earth. The session will also introduce the science behind the Sun itself – from its structure and energy to its importance for life on Earth. \nA key focus of the event is safe solar observation. Experts will demonstrate how to view the Sun properly\, highlighting the dangers of looking at it without protection and explaining the different safe viewing methods available. \nEach visitor will receive a pair of solar viewing glasses to take away\, ready for safely experiencing the partial solar eclipse when it arrives in August 2026. \nBook your place by emailing young.astronomers.wyas@gmail.com \nTickets £7-£10
